Barbara Chamberlin is one of the premiere musical artists from Whitehorse, Yukon. With roots in Oregon, USA, she has performed all over the world. Barbara released her fourth CD, Boomerang Girl, with the title coming from seeing herself a permanent transient of the Yukon. She travels around the world, but always comes back to her Yukon home.
The songs range from the rock-art title song, to the arched sarcasm of “You’re Gonna Miss me when I’m Gone”, to the jazzy “Firefly”, a flute song with a nod to Ian Anderson.
Highlights in Barbara’s diverse career include her involvement in the movie “Highway of Heartache” which aired on Bravo, cracking the top 100 for the Highway of Heartache project, singing for the opening ceremonies for the Canada Winter Games in the Yukon, and winning the BC festival of the Arts Award of Excellence.
